Gazprom key cultural projects are presented at the jubilee St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum
At the 10th St. Petersburg International United Cultures Forum, the panel discussion “It's All About Culture” presented Gazprom's projects in the field of historical and cultural heritage preservation and creative industries development.
According to Igor Shuvalov, Chairman of VEB.RF, who led the thematic section “Business Culture”, cultural companies nowadays are becoming champions of economic growth and improving the quality of people's lives. Gazprom's projects implemented over the last 20 years in the field of historical and cultural heritage preservation and creative industries development have a multiplicative social effect.
First of all, the restoration of the largest cultural monuments not only preserves the traditions of the national restoration school, but also develops interdisciplinary projects, creates new tourist routes for museums and nature reserves, and opens up the possibility of attracting new audiences.
Secondly, urban improvement projects create a comfortable environment in which small and medium-sized businesses start to develop in a new way, creative associations appear, and the community revives.
Finally, projects directly related to the formation of St. Petersburg event brands, such as the Friends of St. Petersburg Festival and the 1703 Saint Petersburg Art Fair, as well as the creation of public and business spaces, contribute to the direct economic development of St. Petersburg.
“Everything Gazprom does in St. Petersburg is a systemic institutional work to develop the city. Gazprom lives together with the city, picking up and developing the things that need support, bringing the expected, as well as innovative things that take St. Petersburg to a new level,” emphasized Elena Davydova, General Director of the Gazprom Cultural Initiatives Foundation.
